Texas State Representative Kyle Biederman (R) has authored a bill that will force the Texas Legislature to discuss putting a referendum of the secession of Texas to a vote of the People. (ie: Texit)
Biederman is a member of the Texas House of Representatives for District 73, which includes Gillespie, Kendall, and Comal Counties. In addition to the Texit bill, he is also the author of HB 1238, the Personal Protection & Safety Act, also known as the Constitutional Carry Bill. As stated in the Texas Legislature website, the bill is “Relating to provisions governing the carrying of a firearm by a person who is not otherwise prohibited by state or federal law from possessing the firearm and to other provisions related to the carrying, possessing, transporting, or storing of a firearm.”
Biedermann was elected in 2016. He currently serves on the County Affairs Committee and Land & Resource Management Committee. Additionally, Representative Biedermann is a member of the Texas Freedom Caucus which has as its stated purpose to ensure the voices of the citizens are heard in the halls of the Texas Legislature.
